Can food combinations and how you combine foods on your plate improve your overall health? Is your gut health affected by those same food combinations? The Vlog episode attempts to explain the reasons why the order of digestion of foods can indicate whether some will have gas, bloating, and indigestion. If you imagine 3 participants in a race, they will all finish at different times. But imagine if, regardless of how quickly they finished the race, they would all have to wait at the finish line until all were ready to cross the finish line.
Your digestion is the same. Foods digest differently, and those "waiting periods" can give many people problems. Therefore, the food combinations and proper food combining is crucial for weight loss, obtaining valuable nutrients like proteins, and our overall health.
Note: I hope you enjoyed my illustration of the marathon race to reiterate how foods can be like runners who finish at different times during the race. I'm sure you are curious to know what are enzymes or what do probiotics do in our bodies? What is the best way to describe probiotics and digestive enzymes? Many people confuse them and believe that probiotics and enzymes are the same, but it's important to know the distinction and the roles they play to strengthen our immune system.
In this video blog episode, I use an illustration of a scissors and toothbrush bristles to better explain what probiotics and digestive enzymes help us, and if we need to even know what an enzyme is.
Note: Thanks for watching the video, and I hope you learned a bit about how the immune system is supported by probiotics and enzymes. If you did, click the like button below or better yet, it would mean the world if you took a screen shot and shared it on your Instagram or Snapchat story. I'd love to walk with you on your journey to better health, and if you want more information as to how enzymes work in our bodies, click the link to download.
When it comes to eating liver or other organ meats, there are many different opinions about how does liver taste, why we should eat it because it's nutritious, or who should not eat liver.
But in this video I shot with my son, we prepare a meal of liver and onions together to find out what liver tastes like and if it is good. (I'll apologize for my son's video skills.... it's always a work in progress with children). :-)
Note: Thanks for watching the video (and hopefully you watched it with subtitles). There are some definite health benefits of eating liver. Ultimately, the question of whether you should eat liver comes down to a philosophical belief or whether you think people are "bad" for eating organ meats because he and I definitely made it quite tasty.
