Second Brain In Your Stomach
Have you ever had that feeling deep in your belly that seems to be steering you to act a certain way? This "feeling" or the pit in your stomach is actually your second brain. How strong it is and how comfortable you are following it is one of the core principles of your mental health and digestion.
In this episode of The Mental Minute, I begin to look into that second brain in your stomach. Although it might be an afterthought for many, this secondary brain tends to control the gut and brain axis and why anxiety comes from an imbalance in your gut. Does this imbalance cause your body to react differently with certain diets like the keto diet and gut bacteria and does that in turn affect your anxiety levels?
