A Healthy Gut Says You Won't Be Sick
A healthy gut doesn't mean you won't ever be sick. The human gut microbiome in health and disease can control how long you're sick, but not necessarily that you won't ever get sick.
So what is it about sickness, and can you get sick if you have a good, strong, healthy gut? And the answer is absolutely yes. I'm living proof of that. I got sick just recently, and I like to pride myself that I have a good, strong, healthy gut. The point is is that I don't shy away from sickness, I'm not a germaphobe, I actually welcome it, you know, for the fact that I'm trying to build up my immune system.
But what I found is that over the course of the past couple of days I did a little bit about research, and I realized there's two trains of thought in terms of trying to get healthy. You have the medical community who thinks that really, the best way to do it is to get a vaccine, and everything else is just really secondary. And then you have the natural community thinks the best way to do is to eat your greens, get outside, and vaccines are not necessary.
The bottom line is it's important for you to listen to your body. What I did, is I just slept. I knew that I needed time to rest. And the important part is actually knowing what your body needs. It's always telling you something, especially as it relates to sickness, you just have to listen to it. In this episode of The Mental Minute, I share why having a healthy gut doesn't automatically mean you won't be sick. The way most interpret the articles found on the internet today, a healthy gut means you won't be sick, but I explain why that's not the case.
Note: Thanks for taking a few minutes to listen to my podcast. Hopefully, you've realized that regardless of how much you focus on gut health, sickness might inevitably come. Do me a huge favor and click the like button below or share this on twitter. Or better yet, it would mean the world if you took a screenshot and shared it on your social media stories. When you do, here's a checklist I personally use when looking at those supplements that support our immune system.
