Pharmaceuticals Stop Symptoms, Not Cures
How does one develop bacterial resistance to antibiotics? Is it because pharmaceuticals don't work or is it because our bodies are constantly evolving?
I've always looked at our gut microbiome as a way we achieve optimal health. How is that possible? Well, we know an approach that doesn't work, that's visiting the doctor and obtaining prescriptions for pharmaceutical drugs. What I find fascinating is despite over a trillion dollars of research expenditures, few curative drugs have been invented. You ever thought about that? Antibiotics for bacterial infections are almost the only candidate, and bacteria are already evolving and developing resistance on the current list of antibiotics that we have on the marketplace today.
Drugs often mitigate the symptoms, but they rarely cure the diseases. Diseases rarely go away, and aging tends to compound and bring about new problems associated with the previous disease. It's a cycle, and that's really where I was and that's the purpose of this page is really to help to educate you on how you and me can get back to that natural lifestyle. Doesn't mean paleo, doesn't mean vegan, but we want to look at our lifestyle. It should resemble the rhythmic life attuned to nature of those hunter gatherers who lacked artificial life and other modern technologies.
The bottom line of living a productive lifestyle is answering the daily question of how to achieve wellness and optimal health? Based on more and more research and lack of progress, we are beginning to see that pharmaceuticals don't work and nutrition can assist our bodies health. In today's episode of The Mental Minute, I explain a bit about how have bacteria evolved resistance to antibiotics. This is important because pharmaceutical drug prescriptions are becoming more of the go-to to better health by the media today. But there is a better way, and it's how we can go back to a more natural lifestyle.
