Toxic Cell Damage
How exactly do free radicals affect the body? In order to address that, we should probably ask how free radicals are formed and can that be reduced?
As long as people put unhealthy things in their bodies, it's important to look at why oxidative stress is damaging our bodies due to how prevalent things called free radicals are in our system. Our path to better health has been lost to us in many different ways and we are now living the sum of our actions blind to the effects these free radicals have on our system.
We are experiencing cause and effect, pure and simple. Why are we suffering from living in this so-called westernized and industrialized environment? I believe it's simply because of the amount our cells get distorted from being exposed to a daily barrage of environmental and nutritional toxins that cause stress on them. This constant pressure on them to run efficiently create significant oxidative stress.
So that begs the question, what is oxidative stress? Oxidative stress is simply defined as the disturbance and the natural balance between the production of free radicals in the antioxidant defenses. Often times, it's a delicate balance between the body's production of free radicals and it's ability to get rid of the negative effects of them by the neutralization by antioxidants. So it's time that we began to take a closer look at how many antioxidants you are giving your body to build a better defense. In this podcast, I look at the potential for constant cell damage due to free radicals, and how that may be the major contributing factor of society's illness.
