Does A Diet Have To Be Diverse?
It shouldn't be surprising to know what you eat affects mood. In fact it regulates behavior. But how does it compare with global vs. american diets?
There has been some promising research that has indicated once people take probiotics, their perceived anxiety, how they view and handle pressure, and their intellectual outlook can be enhanced, compared with those who don't include probiotics of their diets. But there have been different studies comparing various non-US diets like the Mediterranean diet and the Japanese diet to a typical SAD diet. Standard American diet.
And that has shown that the danger of depression is about a quarter percent lower in those, compared to the way that we as Americans eat. Scientists account for this distinction is, a result of those ancient diets tend to be high in vegetables, fruits, and processed grains and fish with minimal amounts of lean meats and dairy products, and don't have a significant amount of refined foods and sugars, which are a large component of a typical westernized diet.
Ultimately, we know that diets affect digestion regardless of whether it's in America or around the globe. Does this mean that diets have to be diverse in order to affect our digestion in the most beneficial way? Absolutely not, but there is significant importance of diet diversity and everyone should try to incorporate it.
