How To Stimulate Bowel Movement
There is a correlation between bowel movements and probiotics. It's often asked do probiotics cause bowel movements? Understanding that there is a physiological reason why when someone consumes probiotics or eats fermented foods why probiotics cause bowel movements.
Today I'm going to be talking about probiotics, and bowel movements. I know, great stuff. But, inevitably, people do ask when they take probiotics, or drink kombucha, or kefir. They end up going to the bathroom, and they want to know the reasons why. They think that it's a laxative, or maybe have questions associated with that, and I'm here to tell you that probiotics are not a laxative. Their main job, their main physiological function is to go in and break up sugars and starches in your body.
So if you think about foods that are somewhere in your body, or toxins, or whatever the case is, that's impacted. It hasn't been processed. So when you ingest a lot of probiotics at one time, their job is to go in, break up the sugars and starches, and then inevitably those sugars and starches, i.e., foods, have to be released and eliminated. Going to the bathroom. So when you take probiotics, and you end up going to the bathroom, that's actually a good thing. So pay attention to that, just wanted to let you guys know.
In today's episode of The Mental Minute, I briefly describe how a regimen of including probiotics in your plan to obtain optimal gut health can help better bowel movements.
