Can Vegetables help Eliminate Waste?

Raw Vegetables Digestion Problems

Do vegetables help digestion. If someone has issues, the question most want answered is which vegetables do you eat for digestion, raw or cooked?

As mentioned in a previous post, water found in many foods benefit our body not only in keeping us hydrated, but by also helping us with our bowel movements.  When our body breaks it down, fresh fruits and vegetables that have a significant water content are perfect foods for our digestive system to utilize for energy.  On top of that, they are often the ones that have the most nutritional content and can hydrate our bodies the most.

How Bad Is Produce Toxicity?

Can Produce Be Toxic?

How do you choose the right produce at the grocery store? Looking at whether to buy organic or conventional, you should ask if organic produce is healthy.

What exactly is your view of organic and natural foods?  For most people, it's completely backwards and over the years, the mindset has changed as to what most believe is truly healthy. When it comes to foods, there is a bit of irony in that the foods not covered in pesticides and are actually grown the way nature intended are the foods labeled differently and separated and not the other way around.

Vegetable Amino Acids

Produce Section Nutrition

Spend nutrition dollars on produce
Is there an absolute best way to grocery shop for healthy foods? There is when you focus on the produce section for your nutrition.

Finding new ways to grocery shop is to better understand what is important, like the difference between food pyramid and myplate.  Taking a step back and objectively looking at these guidelines can show you how to be more conscious of nutrition.  In this podcast episode, I share my thoughts on why you should change the way you shop and spend your nutrition dollars on produce.
NOTE:  Thank you so much for listening to this brief podcast.  I hope you will use my guidelines to become a healthier shopper.  If you did, would you do me a favor and like this or share it on your twitter account?  This would mean the world to me, and if you do, I'll let you download my free fermented food recipe list.

Improve Your Standard Of Living

How Many Edible Plant Species Are There?

Should You Eat The Same Foods?

Where do you get your nutrition, and when it comes to getting the most nutrition, is there a way how to eat different foods?  This ultimately comes down to food diversity.

We could probably say our standard of living has increased over the past, let's say, a hundred years. Unfortunately, that's not reflected in our nutrition and the way that we get nutrition from the foods that we eat. We spend less money proportionally-wise on whole foods today than we did, let's say, 50 years ago. And that connection that we have with foods and the foods that we consume is getting weaker and weaker by the day. Food diversity is down, illnesses are up. There has to be some sort of correlation there.

Finding A New Way Of How To Eat

Eat Like A Bear Diet Plan

I'll just go ahead and ask the question, "why should you be an omnivore"? This really stems from the thought that we should let our environment determine our diet.

The commonality we all share, is that we want to get the most nutrition from the foods that we eat. It doesn't matter if you're vegan, or vegetarian, or paleo, pescatarian, the way that you get the most vitamins and minerals from the foods that you ingest, is through good gut health and digestion.

Going forward, I want you to try to model your nutrition plan around the bear. Bears are omnivores, but, they're mostly vegetarian. They're also adaptable creatures, based on their surroundings. Polar bears eat seals. Panda bears eat mostly bamboo. North American Nordic bears eat pretty much just anything ... berries, fruits, nuts, mushrooms. But, they also eat meat, as well. Again, based on their surroundings.

How can you find a diet that works for you?

Healthy Diet Lifestyle Change

Why is it that when people live a certain lifestyle, a general assumption that everyone should be that way follows?  Now the title of this podcast speaks to vegans, but in today's episode, I actually breakdown why it's not really important what you eat, but what your body thinks is important to you.

In true digestive fashion, the body doesn't really care what label you put on the foods you   I'm sure you've had a conversation with someone before about what's the best diet or meal plan.  If you have, this episode is definitely a must. Click the link to listen or download.
