Antibiotics Don't Work On Viruses
A large reason why I enjoy and have a passion for gut health is because for many, it is a new frontier to look at how to become healthy. Looking at your digestion and microbiome is something "out-of-the-ordinary" and not your typical, "eat broccoli, exercise, get sleep" mantra that you see all over social media. This different approach compelled me to talk about antibiotics. ⠀
Let's start out by saying you're a mayor of a small town, enjoying life and everything is going great. Then let's pretend there are a rash of burglaries at some resident's homes. How would you react and what would you do as mayor? The first step would be get the police to investigate and talk to neighbors that might have seen something, the key word being "investigate". But what would happen if you unilaterally decided to throw everyone in your town in jail? ⠀(To continue reading, listen to, or download the podcast, follow the link).

Digestive Enzymes Help You Lose Weight
What are probiotics and what are enzymes and why are they important for you? Are there any side effects of taking digestive enzymes? Is there a way you can tell if you need digestive enzymes?
If you picture the way that you eat in your digestive system, picture it just as one long tube. On the inside of that tube are these little like toothbrush type bristles that line all of inside of the tube. Now, those are the probiotics and as you eat foods, what happens is the food travels down that tube and those little villi, those probiotics, secrete enzymes which, then, in turn, helps to break down the food so that you can use the vitamins and minerals and nutrients from those foods.
Can Prebiotics Help With Acid Reflux?
What is prebiotic fiber? Is it beneficial to our gut bacteria and digestive health? In today's episode of the Go With Your Gut Podcast, I look at what I think is a food group that is absolutely vital to better gut health and digestion: prebiotics and prebiotic foods.
It seems everyone knows what a probiotic is, but rarely do people mention prebiotics in the same breath. It's important to know the differences between probiotics and prebiotics simply because one is living bacteria and one is food for that living bacteria. The old adage "You Are What You Eat" holds true for our gut bacteria too. If you want to read more, or listen to or download this podcast, follow the link.
Probiotics Reduce Inflammation
If you believe in probiotics, you've probably wondered "When's the best time to take probiotics?" or "What are the best probiotics to take?" Before you address that, let's look at the truth. Getting into the best physical, mental, and emotional shape takes planning, education, and research. More specifically, it begins with better gut and digestive health. Probiotics are the key, but knowing what the best sources of probiotics to take or which natural sources of probiotics will benefit you long term is JUST as important as taking it themselves. Where do you begin to learn which probiotics are important to your health? To continue reading, listen t,o, or download this podcast, follow the link.
