What Role Does The Gut Play In The Immune System?

Role Gut Plays In Mental Health

Link Between Inflammation And Mental Health

What is the link between gut bacteria and mental health?  We know that the foods we eat can affect our mood, so does this mean that sugar's effect on the brain is not beneficial?  I'd like to look a bit deeper into the term nutritional psychology and then explain what happens to your brain when you eat refined foods, especially sugars.

Unfortunately, because it's like a very expensive and upscale automobile, your brain may be broken down if you ingest something aside from premium fuel. If substances from your brain's low premium fuel, such as what you get from processed or refined foods, if it gets to the brain, it doesn't have the capabilities to actually remove them.

Caffeine And Blood Vessels

Effects Of Caffeine On The Adolescent Brain

Today is the last part of part four in my series on how caffeine can be detrimental to our overall health. Now, I know what you are saying, "Jared, just let me have my morning 'Cup Of Joe'",  but lately it's really got me thinking that such a large percentage of people are entirely addicted to the same stimulant and we often feel like we need it of course but this can't be normal.

It's not like our bodies are hard wired to need caffeine to function but perhaps the caffeine does a great job of covering up our current state of health. Without coffee, we may feel that we are tired or drained and coffee provides a short term fix for that so we are essentially relying on coffee to treat the symptom but not get to the root cause of the issue which is the same as any other drug.

Coffee And Caffeine Addiction

How To Break Caffeine Addiction?

Caffeine addiction is becoming a larger problem today in society.  Today is the second part of my series on what caffeine does to your body and your brain. And then I'm gonna go into greater detail about why I'm taking a caffeine detox.

Caffeine triggers our fight or flight response mechanism which can raise cortisol. Now, this is commonly known as the stress hormone, so if you feel particularly stressed out during the day, perhaps a detox from this drug will help, and it's definitely worth a shot as many of us know how detrimental stress can be to our overall health and well being.

Should We Regulate Coffee Like Cocaine?
Today I'm going to be starting a four part series on what caffeine does to your brain and make that a case for why we might not want to be consuming it.

In many cultures around the world, coffee is consumed daily and for many people it's really their first thought and what gets them out of bed in the morning. For others, it's an excuse to get together with friends or family and socialize. What we often fail to realize is that coffee or more specifically caffeine is a drug. In reality, it's a highly addictive stimulant, which is in the same category of cocaine and methamphetamine and like those drugs, if abused, can have some serious consequences.

Depression is caused by inflammation

Mental Health Gut Health

I want to talk about the correlation between your brain and your gut, and how the importance of having a good floral gut bacteria can actually affect your mental health. Did you know that the brain and the gut are actually made of the same type of tissue? That's why they say they call it the second brain here. But, things like serotonin, or dopamine or Gaba, those are all what I call happy hormones and they can be produced in the gut if you have a healthy running digestive system. blood sugar spikes after eating

Sugar brain fog
When you have high insulin levels, is that a symptom of something related to your diet?  For example, does your blood sugar spike after eating?

The biggest questions related to your health come from the body's reaction to sugars, and I have found that fake sugars make brain health worse.  The more sugar you eat, the greater the chance of brain fog and the greater chance that there is a resistance to sugar.  Ultimately, we have to focus on finding a cure for insulin resistance cure.  This podcast addresses it.
Note:  Thank you so much for listening to my podcasts.  If you learned a bit more about edible sugars and how it affects our blood sugar, do me a favor and click the like button below.  Or better yet, the best form of support would be to take a screen shot of this podcast and share it on your Instagram story, Facebook story, or Snapchat.

Brain Fog And Alcohol

How To Reduce A Hangover

So what exactly is the best remedy for a hangover?  If we knew that, we might be able to tackle exactly why hangovers happen.  So if you do decide to drink (and drink heavily) and get a hangover, is there a simple solution to reduce the effects of drinking too much alcohol?  ,

When you experience a hangover, it is generally an overdose of residual toxins, sugars, and alcohol that has yet to be eliminated from your body.  But why does this happen?  If you had optimal digestion and a strong immune system, would these toxins be removed more quickly, thereby reducing a hangover?

Is The Brain More Powerful Than The Gut?

Gut Brain Link

Mental Power Digestion

Is there a connection between your gut and your brain?  Is the brain or the gut more powerful?  Knowing which has the power to control what you eat is the key to resolving any health or digestion related issues you may have.

What part of your body is more powerful in determining what you eat, you brain or your gut? I'm going to use an illustration to prove my point.

But let's say you've got that 3:00 pm crashing and you start to feel lethargic and your mind's saying, "Hey we need some food, food, food," and you start thinking about all those specific foods. But let's say you go pick out some potato chips, some sour cream and onion. You take that back to your desk, all the sudden you eat it. You feel, "Oh, that's great. And then about 10 minutes later you feel like you're hungry again.
