Proof That Gut Health And Brain Health Are Connected
Why do most fail at fixing their gut health? The reason is because there are little know ways your gut health and brain are connected that must be addressed.
It's important to note we are on the verge of a new frontier of addressing our health, that new frontier being through our gut. If I had my way (or money), I would spend my time dedicated to learning how our gut health is connected to all of the diseases of our immune system or how poor gut health can contribute to a break down of our autoimmunity in general.

Is Brain Fog Caused By Digestion?
Can brain fog be reversed? The causes of brain fog can be numerous, but most of them ultimately come back to knowing why poor digestion leads to brain fog?
What's the origin of the term “brain fog” and what exactly does it mean? If you have ever had those bouts of feeling like you lacked mental clarity, couldn't focus your attention on a task at hand, lacking concentration, or simply a general sense of just not feeling completely dialed into your life, you could probably be classified as having a case of “Brain fog”. The Delicate Balance Of Thinking And Probiotics
What exactly is healthy thinking? Is it simply thinking healthy or is it understanding how to walk the fine line of good gut health and good thoughts?
Before we answer that, we should look at how probiotics serve as the foundation from which your brain grows efficiently and how that good bacteria can serve as a protector for your brain as well. Once you understand the relationship between your brain (mental health) and your gut microbiome, you can see how important they are to the other. How The Vagus Nerve Can Help Depression
Why is stimulating the vagus nerve a new component of better mental health? Is this why psychobiotics and the vagus nerve the new health frontier? It seems more treatments of brain disorders can begin in the gut.
In a previous podcast, I explained a new term and really, a “new” type of probiotics that many hadn't heard of before. That term being, “Psychobiotics”. Without going down a rabbit hole or creating a lengthy article, psychobiotics are what you might think of as probiotics, but they perform so much more than the normal gut bacteria we have. Free Radical Production From Poor Digestion
What exactly are the causes of free radicals? Whether good or bad for us, it's important to find ways to reduce free radical production in our body.
If you were to Google what are some commonalities of many diseases like cancer, ADHD, autism, and other brain-related disorders like Parkinson's and depression, you'd find that oxidative stress is right up there and probably a bodily function that is found in the early stages of these diseases and disorders. So why don't we hear more about it? What Is Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
Are there any natural ways to reduce anxiety and depression? Understanding that depression and loneliness can be affected by mindfulness is crucial.
Everyone at some point in their lives will experience a bout of sadness or possible anxiety. It was during my first experiences with it that I learned some tools that helped me to overcome what was causing my depression and anxiety, these tools being a bit of mindfulness and spiritual meditation. I realize that words like meditation and mindfulness are trending, but there is more and more research out there that cognitive therapies based on mindfulness are showing promising results. Nutritional Psychology
Do You get anxiety from food? Does that sound strange or how would you even know? Are there anxiety foods that help gut bacteria that in turn helps your anxiety?
Imagine a existence without bacteria living in, on, and around your intestine. How might you might be living: more sickness or healthier? Regardless of your physical health, you would in all likelihood sense stressful and depressed, with little preference to see associates and your own family. at least that is what research has shown in mice with limited gut bacteria. Antidepressants And Immune System
Do you take antidepressants or do you know someone that does? Are you concerned about how those pills may interfere with your gut health? With much focus beginning to be written about the relationship between your gut health and mental health and antidepressants, it might be good to address how one affects the other.
I had two people ask me recently whether they should stop taking antidepressants and focus on a significant amount of pharmaceutical grade probiotics or whether probiotics could ultimately become a substitute for antidepressants. My answer is/was/always will be, 100% no. Probiotics are not medicine or pharmaceutical drugs. They don't need to be prescribed by a physician, and in most instances are not used to get your body to do or not do something it is supposed to do. Probiotics are simply living organisms (bacteria) and part of living foods that go to enhance and nourish your overall well-being and gut health. |
